What Lies Ahead for Christianity? The Hope of the Church Is the Hope of the Sacraments

The hopes that open up from the Eucharist indicate the future of the Church. They can be summarized with the figure of the mother of the Maccabean martyrs, who exhorted her children to martyrdom. St. John Chrysostom says that she was mother fourteen times, in that she begot her children for this life, and also in pushing them to resist idolatry to the point of death, which opened them to eternal life in their resurrected body.
